LAST WEEK
UTA is coming off a four-game week to open its home schedule, suffering a 7-2 loss to No. 1 TCU on Tuesday in front of a program-record 2,008 fans at Clay Gould Ballpark. The Mavs pushed TCU into the eighth inning in a 2-2 game before the high-octane Frogs exploded in the final two stanzas.

UTA then hosted Louisiana Tech, a veteran laden club that advanced to the NCAA Starkville Regional Championship game in 2016 vs. the Southeastern Conference Champion Mississippi State Bulldogs. UTA suffered a 3-1 loss in 10 innings on Friday night as a shallow pop-up in rightfield fell into no-mans land to allow the decisive two runs to score in the 10th. LATECH then used runs in the eighth and ninth to erase a UTA lead on Saturday and post a 7-3 win. The Mavs then pushed Louisiana Tech into extra innings with a seventh-frame, three-run rally but suffered 6-4 loss in 11 innings after an error allowed the decisive runs to score.
