ARLINGTON, Texas -
The UT Arlington baseball team will honor 14-year old Andrew Jacobi prior to its Southland Conference home opener against Texas State on March 23 at Clay Gould Ballpark. Jacobi will throw out the first pitch, while members of the 12, 13 and 14-year old Arlington Heat teams will shag fly balls during the Mavericks batting practice.
Jacobi, an eighth grader at Worley Middle School in Mansfield, suffered a serious head injury when he collided with another player going after a ball in the outfield on March 11. Jocobi was unconscious and went into seizure. He spent three days in Parkland Hospital where he underwent head surgery. He is currently going through speech therapy and made his return to school earlier this week.

5-5:40 p.m. - Meet with UTA players during visiting team batting practice
5:40-6:25 p.m. - Division I baseball experience
6:28 p.m. - Andrew Jacobi throws out first pitch
6:30 p.m. - Texas State vs. UT Arlington
