2010 Yahoo! Sports All-America Team

ARLINGTON, Texas - UT Arlington's Michael Choice (Arlington, Texas) picked up his second All-American award on Tuesday when Yahoo! Sports selected him to its All-America team. The website's All-America team consists of 10 position players (three outfielders), four starting pitchers and two relief pitchers.

Last week Choice was named a second team PING! All-American. Choice has now collected seven All-American honors this year.

Choice led the nation with a school and Southland Conference record 76 walks and his .568 on-base percentage led the conference and was a new school record.

He became the second straight UTA player to lead the conference in hitting with a .383 batting average. Choice also led the team in home runs (16), RBI (59), runs scored (67), total bases (138), slugging percentage (.704), hit by pitch (11) and stolen bases (12-of-16). In fact, Choice became the first player in UTA history to lead the team in home runs in three consecutive seasons and to also post three straight 50-RBI seasons.

The 10th overall pick in the first round of the 2010 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft by the Oakland Athletics, Choice batted .392 (242-for-618) in 166 career games with the Mavericks. In his career, he tallied 170 runs, 33 doubles, eight triples, 34 home runs (career leader) and 162 RBI.

Prior to his junior season, Choice became the first player in UTA history (second in Southland Conference history) to play for the USA Baseball National Collegiate Team where he batted .350 with three doubles, three home runs and 13 RBI. Choice finished the 2009 summer being named to the World Baseball Challenge All-Tournament team.
