ARLINGTON, Texas – Preston Beck added to his list of postseason accolades by being named to the ABCA/Rawlings All-American third team. Beck is currently in the Texas Rangers minor-league system after finishing a three-year career at UT Arlington.
The Dallas native and graduate of Bishop Lynch High School was also part of the ABCA All-South Central Region first team and All-Southland Conference first team. The junior right fielder led SLC in home runs with 14 and with 71 RBI, setting a new UTA record in the process. He hit .335 and had a league-leading .602 slugging percentage. He also recorded six assists.
Beck's homer total in 2012 is tied for fifth-most in school history for a single season. Beck's 21 career home runs in three years are tied for seventh on UTA's all-time list. His 150 career RBI ranks fourth.
