ARLINGTON, Texas -- UTA junior Christian Hollie has been named as a starter for the 2017 Coastal Plains League All-Star Game, it was announced.
A native of Fort Worth, Texas, Hollie has had a prolific summer in the highly competitive Coastal Plains League and will serve as the Eastern Division starter at second base, set for July 10 in Holly Springs, N.C.
For the Savannah Bananas, Hollie has hit .337 (30-for-89) with seven doubles, one triple, two homers and 13 RBI, owning a .506 slugging and a .404 on-base percentage. Hollie leads the team with 10 steals and 14 chances.
A junior in 2017, Hollie fought back to return to the UTA lineup after missing the first month of the season due to a hand injury. He retired to hit .270 with three homers, 16 RBI and three steals in 31 games. In his three-year career, Hollie has hit .261 (115-for-440) with 17 doubles, six triples, five homers and 61 RBI.
