ARLINGTON, Texas - Texas Rangers CEO and baseball legend Nolan Ryan is the featured guest at the First Pitch Banquet on Jan. 17. Rangers Ballpark in Arlington is hosting the event at the Capital 1 Club at 6:30 p.m.
Ryan, who will take part in a question-and-answer session, serves as CEO & President of the Texas Rangers and is part of the team's ownership group, Rangers Baseball Express, which completed its purchase of the franchise on August 12, 2010.
Baseball's all-time strikeout leader was named as the tenth president in Texas Rangers team history on Feb. 6, 2008 and has had a dramatic impact on the franchise in his five years on the job. Off the field, he has instilled a renewed commitment to providing the best fan experience and making the Rangers a strong community partner.
The evening also includes the presentation of the 2013 Western Athletic Conference championship rings. The Mavericks claimed a share of the WAC regular-season title. Members of the 2014 baseball team and former UTA players will also be in attendance.
