A year after winning the Sun Belt Conference Western Division Championship, UTA baseball has released its 2018 schedule, featuring 27 games at Clay Gould Ballpark, it was announced by Coach Darin Thomas on Thursday afternoon.

"We are excited to announce our 2018 schedule," Thomas, the 2017 Sun Belt Conference Coach of the Year, said. "It is important when building a schedule to find opportunities to challenge our student-athletes in non-conference play before the league schedule. This schedule will be a great test for us and we are eager to get in front of our fans at Clay Gould Ballpark in the spring."

The Mavs will host 27 total games at Clay Gould Ballpark, including five weekends in Sun Belt play and a rugged midweek schedule that includes TCU, Minnesota, Sa Houston State, Dallas Baptist and Oklahoma.

UTA will open its 2018 schedule with a three-game series at Clay Gould Ballpark with Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (Feb. 16-18).

The Mavs will open their midweek schedule with the first of three games with TCU, traveling to face the Frogs on Feb. 20, before hitting the road for a three-game test in Stephen F. Austin's tournament, with games against the host Jacks and South Dakota State and Bradley.

Appalachian State (May 4-6) comes to Clay Gould for three games before the Mavs travel to Mobile, Ala., to face powerhouse South Alabama (May 11-13) in its road regular-season finale. UTA will host Nicholls State (May 15) in its non-conference finale before welcoming Texas State (May 17-19) for the regular-season finale.

The Sun Belt Conference Championships, hosted by Louisiana, are May 22-27, with the NCAA Tournament Regional round held from June 1-4 at campus sites.
