ARLINGTON, Texas - UT Arlington baseball's Fall World Series opens Tuesday with first pitch at 2:30 p.m. at Clay Gould Ballpark. The three-game series continues with games Thursday and Friday.
UT Arlington coach Darin Thomas is ready to evaluate the pitching staff under game conditions.
"I feel good about it," Thomas said. "They've all answered the bell and went out every time it's their turn to take the ball. So far this fall I've been very pleased with their pitching.
The Mavericks will be split into two teams - Team Blue and Team Grey.
"We'll have something riding on it for the winners and losers," Thomas said.
The Mavericks return 17 letter winners from a team that went 31-27 in 2013 and claimed a share of the WAC regular-season championship. Thomas welcomes in a 16-member recruiting class for the first season in the Sun Belt.
The Mavericks have won conference titles the last two years, winning the Southland Conference Tournament championship in 2012.
The Fall World Series was originally set to begin Wednesday, but was moved up a day with rain in the forecast later this week. Admission to the Fall World Series is free and open to all fans. Each game is set for 2:30 p.m.
