Allan Adams begins his first year as an assistant men's basketball coach at UT Arlington in 2008-2009. Adams comes to UT Arlington after spending the previous two seasons as the video coordinator for the men's basketball program at New Mexico State.

During his two years at New Mexico State, Adams contributed to consecutive championship seasons. The Aggies won the 2007 Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Tournament Championship to earn a bid to the NCAA Tournament and finished in a four-way tie for the 2008 WAC regular season title.

Prior to joining the men's basketball staff at New Mexico State, Adams was a graduate assistant coach at the University of Virginia for two years (2004-06) and the Director of Men's Basketball Operations at Stetson University for one year (2003-04). He began his college coaching career as a volunteer assistant coach at Central Florida Community College (1998-2000).

Adams also has five years of experience as a high school coach. He served as an assistant varsity coach at Baker County High School in Glen Saint Mary (FL), for one year (1996-97), the head junior varsity coach at North Marion High School in Citra (FL) for one year (1999-2000) and the head varsity coach at Fort White High School for one year (2000-01) before becoming the head coach at Shores Christian Academy in Ocala, Fla. During his two seasons at Shores Christian, the basketball program produced twelve college players, including nine who played for NCAA Division I programs.

A native of Glen Saint Mary, Fla., he earned a bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Georgia in 1995 and a master's degree in business administration from Stetson University in 2005.

Adams is engaged to Joyce de Guzman of Winter Springs, Fla., and has a dog named Concord.
