One of Mavericks long-range threats after leading UTA in three-point field goals made for the second straight year (45)... started the first 21 games on the year... canned a season-high five three-pointers for 15 points in the Mavs' 86-79 loss at Wyoming on Nov. 27, 2004... led Mavs in assists with 3.96 per game, fourth best in the SLC... had 11 assists versus Texas Wesleyan on Nov. 30, 2004... recorded a three-pointer in 23 of 28 games.

As a sophomore: Ranked second in the SLC in 3-point field goal percentage (.432) and would have ranked in the top 20 nationally if had met minimum requirements... ranked 19th in the SLC in assists with team-high 65 (2.32/game) over 28 games... lone start of season was at Wichita State on Dec. 22, 2003... scored in double figures in three of first five games of season at shooting position before being switched to point guard spot... 11 assists vs. Texas Wesleyan on Dec. 3, 2003 was single-game high in SLC last season... came off the bench to make two or more 3-pointers 12 times in 03-04... played nine or more minutes 25 times during season.... Made 39 field goals during season, 38 from 3-point range.

As a freshman: A 3-point threat, Dawkins ranked among the SLC leaders in 3-point field goal percentage (34.9%)... scored a then career-high 10 points at Northwestern State on Jan. 30.

High School: Earned first team all-state honors from the Texas Sportswriters Association as a senior... averaged 14.5 points, 8.5 assists, 3.1 steals in 2001-02 at Whitehouse High School... nailed 81 three-pointers during senior season... first team all-region selection as a junior and senior... named the District 16-4A Most Valuable Player in each of his final two years.

Personal: Born Oct. 13, 1982 in Tyler, Texas... is the son of Laurie and Wally Dawkins... father, Wally Dawkins, played basketball at Abilene Christian University and uncle, Shannon Hughes, played basketball at Harding... Maintains 3.27 GPA in communcations technology.
