Played in 32 games last season as a freshman for a Boston College team that finished 21-12 and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. He started three games, tallied a career-high 12 points and six assists against Duquesne Dec. 28... he also posted double-figure games at Kansas and against Northeastern in December... shot 42.6 percent (46 of 108) from the field, 32.7 percent from 3-point range (16 of 49) and 55.2 percent (16 of 29) from the free-throw line...tallied 56 assists while making 39 turnovers while averaging 18 minutes of playing time per game.
Haynes was ranked among the nation's best recruits (150/rivalhoops.com and 130 by hoopscoop.com) while being named the 14th best senior in the state by Texashoops.com following his 2005 season... at Irving High School, the 6-foot-3 guard averaged 14.0 points, 5.2 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game as a senior helping the Tigers to a 32-6 record and a region final berth for the first time in more than 30 years... earned District 6-5A Co-Offensive Player of the Year honors in 2004-05 and 5A first-team all-state honors by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches.... was a three-time all-city performer at Irving Nimitz High School as a junior, averaging 20.6 points, 8.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game and was named the District 8-5A Co-Offensive Player of the Year in 2003-04... scored 16 points in the Oil Bowl Classic basketball game June 16, 2005.
