Arlington native becomes the 2nd Maverick to earn all-district honor
The Mavericks begin the season Nov. 14 at Bradley, with the home opener Nov. 18 against Buffalo.
Former UTA standout LaMarcus Reed scored a team-high 16 points in the 60-59 win.
LaMarcus Reed played last season with Etha (Cyprus), averaging 14.2 points and 7 rebounds per game.

A four-year letterwinner... two-time all-district... ranked 45th among seniors in Texas by Texashoops.com... named WFAA-TV Scholar-Athlete of the Week for March 26, 2007... averaged 13.0 points and 9.8 rebounds per game in 2006 for SHS and earned first-team all-district and was named second team all-state by TABC... he was ranked 18th in the state, according to TexasRoundball.com and 21st in the state by rivals.com... in his first year as a member of the Skyline track and field team, Reed qualified for the UIL Class 5A State Championship by winning the 400 meters at the Class 5A Region II meet and he also helped the Skyline boys 4x400-meter relay team win the regional title... Reed's time of 48.45 seconds at the regional meet was the third fastest in the Metroplex.
