Postgame Notes

  • UTA improved to 15-5 on the season and 5-2 in the Sun Belt. The Mavericks hit the road Saturday for a 2:30 p.m. Sun Belt Conference game at Appalachian State.
  • Louisiana dropped to 13-7 on the season and 3-4 in the Sun Belt. The Ragin' Cajuns host Little Rock Saturday at 7:15 p.m.
  • ULM's starting lineup consisted of forwards Justin Miller and Bryce Washington and guards Jay Wright, Frank Bartley and Johnathan Stove.
  • Junior guard Erick Neal registered 13 assists against Louisiana, moving him into fourth place on the program's list for career assists. The Dallas native now has 437 assists in his 83 career appearances and surpassed Cody Glover 425, 1990-92) on the listings.
  • Neal's career-high tying 13 assists also gave him double-figures for the fifth time this season.
  • Junior forward Kevin Hervey scored 21 points in today's game. He has scored in double-figures in 13-straight appearances (He missed the Troy game) and 16 times this season.
  • Senior guard Jalen Jones scored 21 points against Louisiana. The Cedar Hill native has scored in double figures in 15 times this season. He has scored 55 points in the team's last 3 games.
  • Senior guard Jalen Jones connected on 5 3-point field goals, setting a season best and equaling his career-high. He previously drained 4 3-pointers against UT Dallas this season and 5 at Troy as a junior on Jan. 16, 2016.
  • UTA limited Louisiana, the league's highest-scoring team, to 31 first half points - the fewest in the first half for a Sun Belt opponent against the Mavericks so far this season.
  • UTA moved to 14-0 when outrebounding its opponent this season. The Mavericks are also 14-0 when shooting a higher field goal percentage than its opponent.
  • UTA defeated Louisiana by a 37-point margin (108-71), the largest margin of victory for the Mavericks against the Ragin' Cajuns in series history. The previous high was a 15-point win (84-69) on Feb. 7, 2015 in Lafayette, La.
  • UTA surpassed 100 points in a single game for the first time since a 111-64 win over Howard Payne on Nov. 13, 2013. It marked the first time the Mavs scored more than 100 points over a Division I team since a double-overtime 100-97 win over the Roadrunners on Jan. 17, 2009.
  • Redshirt freshman guard Scott "Bill" Muirhead registered career highs in points (6), 3-point field goals (2) and 3-point field goal attempts (4).
  • UTA grabbed 52 rebounds, surpassing the 50-rebound mark for the first time this season and the first since a 57-rebound effort against Troy in the 2016 Sun Belt Tournament.
  • UTA handed out 27 total assists (on 40 made baskets), the highest mark this season and the most since distributing 27 at home against Bradley in Dec., 2015.
