UTA Head Coach Scott Cross
"I think our turnovers, to me, that is the things that stick out. We got stops defensively, especially in that first half. We took a couple of bad shots, especially in that last 10 minutes of the second half and our defense dropped a little. They got a bunch of offensive rebounds in the second half that cost us. We just didn't get the stops down the stretch. I think they scored on 10 straight possessions down the stretch. It is hard to win a basketball game when that happens. We defended pretty much the entire game, until toward the end. At that point, we just couldn't get a stop.
"(Hitting big shots in the final minutes) I guess that's a consolation. Hopefully, these guys can bounce back and we play our best basketball at Georgia Southern. I thought we did a pretty good job, but didn't quite execute like we needed to against their zone. We were much better against Arkansas State. They have a very good zone. I thought we could pick it apart, and we did a couple of times. Over the long haul, we didn't get enough easy baskets. We need to be stronger finishing around the basket."
