POSTGAME NOTES

  • UTA fall to 16-12 on the season and 7-8 against Sun Belt competition. UTA is 11-2 at home, 4-10 on the road (1-7 in the Sun Belt). The Mavericks return to College Park Center Thursday for a 7 p.m. tipoff against Georgia Southern.
  • Louisiana improved to 23-4 overall and 13-1 in the Sun Belt. The Ragin' Cajuns travel to Troy this Thursday for a 7:15 tipoff.
  • Senior guard Kaelon Wilson scored 9 points at Louisiana, giving him 1,114 in his career. He surpassed Mack Callier (1,111 from 1999-03) for 16th on the program's all-time career scoring list.
  • Senior guard Erick Neal scored 26 points at Louisiana, giving him 1,427 points in his career. He surpassed Steven Thomas (1,411 from 2002-06) for fourth on the program's all-time career scoring list. He registered his seventh 20+ point performance of the season and the 16th of his career.
  • Senior forward Kevin Hervey scored 21 points at Louisiana, his 17th 20+ performance of the season and 36th of his career.
  • Louisiana scored 100 points against UTA, the highest total for a Maverick opponent this season. The previous high was 90 points at Niagara, at Creighton and at Coastal Carolina.
  • Louisiana connected on 13 3-point field goals, tying Niagara, Creighton and ULM for the most against the Mavericks this season.
  • Louisiana connected on 20 of 21 free throw attempts against UTA for 95.2 percent - the highest percentage for a Maverick opponent this season. The previous high was a .895 performance (17-19) by Coastal Carolina.
