POSTGAME NOTES

  • UTA improved to 17-12 on the season and 8-8 against Sun Belt competition. UTA is 12-2 at home, 4-10 on the road (1-7 in the Sun Belt). The Mavericks return to College Park Center Saturday for a 4:30 p.m. tipoff against Georgia State.
  • Georgia Southern dropped to 17-11 overall and 8-7 in the Sun Belt. The Eagles travel to Texas State Saturday for a 3:50 p.m. (CST) tipoff.
  • Senior forward Julian Harris earned his first career start against Georgia Southern. He has 89 career appearances at UTA.
  • Senior guard Erick Neal attempted 6 3-point field goals against Georgia Southern. He moved into the top spot on the program's all-time list for 3-point attempts with 698. Brandon Long was the previous leader with 694 from 2005-10.
  • Senior guard Erick Neal went 2-of-6 from behind the 3-point arc against Georgia Southern, surpassing Roge'r Guignard (241, 2006-09) for second in career made 3-pointers. Neal's 242 triples is well shy of Willie Brand's 290 from 1987-91.
  • Senior guard Kaelon Wilson earned his first start since Feb. 1 when he suffered an injury against Appalachian State. He scored 23 points against Georgia Southern, setting a career-best. His previous career high was 22 points at Niagara on Nov. 25.
  • Senior guard Kaelon Wilson went 9-for-16 from the field against Georgia Southern, equaling his career highs in makes and surpassing his season high for attempts.
