Postgame Notes

  • UTA improved to 10-3 on the season and has won nine consecutive games. The Mavericks return to action Saturday, December 31 at 7 p.m. (CST) against Sun Belt Conference newcomer Coastal Carolina.
  • Loyola Marymount dropped to 6-4 on the season. The Lions return to action on Monday, Dec. 26 at home against Morgan State. LMU opens West Coast Conference play on Dec. 29 against Saint Mary’s.
  • LMU’s starting lineup consisted of center Stefan Jovanovic, forwards Buay Tuach and Shamar Johnson and guards Jeffery McClendon and Brandon Brown.
  • UTA improved to 2-0 vs. the West Coast Conference this season and moved to 7-5 against teams from the WCC all-time.
  • Drew Charles moved into 10th on the school’s career list for made 3-point field goals with his second of the game with 4:09 left in the first half. He now has (131). Keith Greene (1998-00) previously owned sole possession of 10th place on the list with 129.
  • UTA owned a 40-32 lead at halftime, the Mavericks’ largest lead of the half. UTA has lead after the first 20 minutes in each of its 13 games of the season.
  • Erick Neal handed out 11 assists tonight, marking the third time this season he has registered double figures.
  • Kevin Hervey scored 14 points tonight to go with 13 rebounds, marking the fifth time this season he has registered a double-double for points/rebounds. He has 13 double doubles in the last two seasons.
  • Six of LMU’s last eight games have been decided by 3 points or fewer.
