  • UTA drops to 9-6 on the season and moves to 0-2 against Sun Belt competition.   • Appalachian State State improves to 7-8 on the season, 2-0 in the Sun Belt and 6-0 at home. The Mountaineers travel to Lafayette, La. Thursday for a 7:15 p.m. (CST) contest at the Ragin' Cajuns (11-3, 1-0 Sun Belt).
  • Senior guard Erick Neal handed out a season-low 3 assists at Appalachian State but brings his career total to 652 and makes him the program's all-time leader in career assists. He surpassed previous leader Ronnell Peters, who distributed 650 assists from 1982-86. He tied the record with an assist to Kevin Hervey for a fastbreak dunk with 16:17 left in the first half. His record-breaking assist came at the 8:50 minute mark in the second half on a basket by Johnny Hamilton.
  • UTA scored 21 first half points at Appalachian State, the Mavericks' lowest total for a half since a 14-point first half output in a 62-68 loss to Little Rock at home during the 2015-16 season. UTA scored 42 second half points in that game, tyed for their third-highest second half total that season.
  • UTA scored 55 points in the second half, the team's highest second half total this season. The total marked the most in a half since the Mavericks scored 59 at Appalachian State last season. In that game, UTA trailed 32-24 at halftime and outscored the Mountaineers 59-35 in the second period.
  • Senior forward Kevin Hervey scored 12 points at Appalachian State to bring his career total to 1,411. He ties Steven Thomas (1,411 from 2002-06) for third on the school's all-time career scoring list.
  • Erick Neal equaled his career high with 27 points at Appalachian State to bring his career total to 1,195, surpassing Marquez Haynes for 14th on the program's career scoring chart. Haynes scored 1,174 points from 2008-10).
  • Kevin Hervey registered 8 rebounds at Appalachian State to bring his career total to 762. He surpassed Jordan Reves (760 from 2020-13) to move into fifth on the program's list for career rebounds..
  • Kevin Hervey registered 1 3-point field goals at Appalachian State to bring his career total to 164. He surpassed Steven Barber (9th, 163 from 1999-02) for 9th on the program's list for made 3-pointers and is just shy of Brady Dawkins (8th, 166 from 2002-06).
  • Senior forward Julian Harris scored a career-high 9 points at Appalachian State. He went 2-of-4 from the field and 5-of-6 from the free throw line.
  • UTA's 21 turnovers and 29 fouls at Appalachian State were both season highs. Appalachian State's 32 free throw attempts were the most for a UTA opponent this season.
