ARLINGTON, Texas - UT Arlington is on a season-high five-game winning streak going into Saturday's meeting with UC Irvine at College Park Center. The nonconference game is part of the Ramada Worldwide BracketBusters series and tipoff is at 5 p.m.

The Mavericks (15-9) ran their winning streak to five with Wednesday’s 63-48 win over UT Pan Am. UT Arlington has won seven of eight. Big West member UCI (15-13) has won five of its last seven games, including a 68-59 win Wednesday over Pacific.

The Mavericks are 5-6 at home, while UCI is 3-11 on the road. This is the first meeting between UT Arlington and UC Irvine.

The Mavericks return to Western Athletic Conference play Feb. 28 against San Jose State before concluding the regular-season home schedule with Utah State on March 2. UT Arlington hasn't had a losing home record since the 1993-94 season.

Senior forward Kevin Butler is averaging 17.2 points over his last five games, leading the team in scoring four times in that stretch. Senior center Jordan Reves and junior forward Brandon Edwards have each posted back-to-back point-rebound double-doubles.

Reves needs four blocked shots to break the UT Arlington single-season record of 58 set 2006-07 by Jermaine Griffin. Reves is currently second and third on that list. He had 57 blocks last season and has 55 this season.

Mavericks coach Scott Cross debuted his seventh starting lineup of the season against UTSA on Feb. 9. He's stuck with that first unit of Cameron Catlett, Shaquille White-Miller, Kevin Butler, Brandon Edwards and Jordan Reves for the last four games. That fivesome is 4-0.

UT Arlington came into the week fourth in the country and first in the WAC in defensive field-goal percentage at 36.7 percent. The Mavericks have held 16 of 24 opponents to less than 40-percent shooting.
