MAVERICKS ENJOY SOLID FIRST (AND ONLY) SEASON IN WAC: UT Arlington finished the 2012-13 campaign at 19-14 which included an 11-7 mark in its first, and only, season in the Western Athletic Conference (the Mavericks will move to the Sun Belt Conference starting in 2013-14)...the conference mark was good for a 4th place finish in the league...the Mavericks reached the championship game of the WAC Tournament, where they lost to New Mexico State 64-55...the Mavericks went 11-5 over their last 16 games of the regular season, including 5-1 in their last six home regular season games.

ANOTHER POSTSEASON APPEARANCE: The Mavericks played in the College Insider.com Postseason Tournament...this appearance marked the second consecutive season UT Arlington had reached a national postseason tournament, which is a first in program history...the program has played in four national postseason tournaments in school history starting with the 1981 NIT and then three appearances under head coach Scott Cross - 2008 NCAA, 2012 NIT and 2013 CIT.

UT ARLINGTON HEAD COACH Scott Cross...finished his seventh season as the Mavericks head coach in 2012-13...he has a career record of 122-96 (.559) and is the third-winningest coach in school history...he has led the Mavs to its two highest single season victory totals - 24 in 2011-12 and 21 in 2007-08...he is the only coach in UTA history to have an overall winning percentage...led the Mavs to their first-ever NCAA Tournament in 2008 after winning the SLC Tournament and has now coached his team in two conference title games...Cross reached 50 wins (90 games) and 100 wins (179) faster than any coach in school history.

BIG SEASONS UNDER CROSS: Three of the top 5 single-season victory totals in UT Arlington history have come under Scott Cross' watch, including the best 2 seasons in program history...the 19 wins in 2012-13 are the 5th-most in school history.

AMONG THE LONE STAR STATE'S BEST:  UT Arlington ranks third among Texas' 21 Division I men's basketball programs with 43 victories in the last two seasons...the only other schools with more are Baylor with 53 and Stephen F. Austin with 47.

SCHOOL RECORD FOR DEFENSE: UT Arlington finished 25th nationally and first in the WAC in field-goal percentage defense at a school-record 39.0%. UTA held its opponents to less than 40% from the field 19 times.

DEFENSE A HALLMARK OF THE MAVERICKS: It should have come as no surprise the Mavericks set a school record in field goal percentage defense in 2012-13 as 4 of the top 5 marks in school history have come over the last 5 seasons...the top two marks, 39.1% this season and 40.3% last year, are the best 2 marks in school history.

BLOCK SHOT KING: Senior center Jordan Reves finished his career as UT Arlington's all-time record holder for blocked shots with 168...he also set a single-season record with 71 in 2012-13 which ranked him 43rd in the nation.

BUTLER SETS 3-POINT MARK: Kevin Butler was a perfect 7-7 from 3-point range in the 71-68 win at Idaho (2/14), setting a school record...the previous best game from beyond the arc in school history was a 5-5 effort by current UT Arlington head coach Scott Cross against UTSA on Feb. 14, 1998 (exactly 15 years prior to the date).

ROAD WARRIORS: The Mavericks finished the season 10-5 in true road games and went 12-6 in overall in games played away from College Park Center...UTA is now 23-9 in their last 32 road or neutral site games...the 10 road wins just missed tying the school record of 11 which was set in 1980-81...the Mavs started 3-0 on the road for the first time in the program's history.

HOME STREAK ENDS: UT Arlington is 64-22 at home since the start of the 2007-08 season, which included going 7-8 in 2012-13...the Mavericks had posted 19 consecutive non-losing seasons at home before the 7-8 mark of this season...the last time UTA had a losing record at home prior was 1993-94 (5-7).

PROGRAM TIES ANOTHER RECORD: The Mavericks played 33 games in 2012-13 which ties a school record for most in a season previously set in 2007-08 and 2011-12.

MORE ON THE DEFENSE: UT Arlington held its opponents just 62.8 points per game in 2012-13...that was the 2nd-lowest total in school history trailing only the 62.7 mark set in 2002-03...it was also the 3rd-best mark in the WAC and 74th in the nation.

BOARD UP: The Mavericks registered 1,252 rebounds this season which was the 2nd-highest total in school history...the first was last year's total of 1,298...the Mavs rebounding margin of +3.5 was the 4th-highest in school history and ranked 72nd in the nation.

OTHER MARKS AMONG THE BEST IN PROGRAM HISTORY: The Mavs also registered some of the top numbers in school history in other statistical categories in 2012-13...the 119 blocks were 2nd, the 486 assists was 4th, the 257 steals was 7th and the 189 3-point field goals was 10th.

70s MEAN SUCCESS: Since the start of 2009-10, UTA is 50-16 when scoring 70 or more and 28-4 when scoring 80 or more...the Mavs were 10-2 when scoring at least 70 this season.

WINNING LINEUP: Cross has used eight starting lineups this season...the fivesome of Catlett, White-Miller, Butler, Edwards and Reves was the most successful at 5-1.

TWO LAND ON ALL-WAC TOURNAMENT TEAM: Karol Gruszecki and Kevin Butler were named to All-WAC Tournament team...Gruszecki averaged 15.7 points and made 10-21 3-pointers. Butler averaged 15.3 points and 7.3 rebounds.
