Arlington, Texas - UT Arlington head men's basketball coach Scott Cross announced today the program has signed four players to national letters of intents to begin playing for the Mavericks in the fall of 2010.

The four players are guard Brad Gay (Missouri City, Tex./Tyler (Tex.) JC/Fort Bend Marshall HS), center Stuart Lagerson (Converse, Tex./Judson HS), guard Darius Richardson (Houston, Tex./Fort Bend Bush HS) and guard Shaquille White (Port Arthur, Tex./Memorial HS).

"I am truly excited to add these four outstanding players to our program," Cross said. "This is an excellent group of players that our staff has done a terrific job of recruiting."

Gay (6-4, 175) led Tyler Junior College in scoring at 12.6 points per game as a freshman last year. He led the Apaches to a 25-6 record last year. An academic qualifier out of high school, Gay was an all-district selection following his senior year.

Lagerson (7-0, 210) is considered one of the top players in the state of Texas. As a junior, he led his team to a school-record 36-2 mark and was an All-District 26-5A selection. He averaged 4.0 rebounds and 3.0 blocks per game last year.

Richardson (6-4, 195) is a true shooting guard. He averaged 14.9 points, and 4.9 rebounds per game last season as he helped lead his team to a 26-9 record. He also shot 40% from 3-point range. He was a District 23-5A First Team selection following his junior season.

White (6-3, 180) was named District 21-5A's Most Valuable Player following his junior season. The cousin of former Texas and current Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamal Charles, White is also a standout football player.
