Nov. 20, 2008

ARLINGTON, Texas - The UT Arlington men's basketball program and head coach Scott Cross announced the signing of Jordan Reves to a National Letter of Intent. Reves, a 6-foot-10, 225 pound senior from Louisville, Ky., averaged 11 points, nine rebounds and three blocked shots per game as a junior at Jeffersontown High School, which is the No. 2 ranked team in the largest classification in the state of Kentucky.

"We are extremely excited to sign Jordan Reves," Cross said. "I really believe he will be one of the best big men in the Southland Conference before it is all said and done. He is a legit 6-foot-10, runs the floor extremely well, he has great hands and has very good post moves. I think he is going to improve each and every day he is in our program. I'm really excited to have the opportunity to coach him for four years."

Reves is listed as the Top Sleeper in the state of Kentucky by the Rick Bolus Recruiting Service. In a game last season against the No. 2 ranked forward/center in Kentucky, Reves tallied 16 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks. He was a member of the Jeffersontown High School team that won the 2006 state tournament championship

Reves will join a Mavericks frontcourt in 2009-10 that will also feature 6-foot-10 Ishmael Awange and 6-foot-10 Jordan Kinnear, who are both freshmen this season for UT Arlington.

Reves signed with the Mavericks while also considering Cornell, Loyola, Western Kentucky, Valparaiso, Louisville and Texas.
