The Mavericks men's basketball team will look to snap a small two-game losing streak as they host UT Pan American Monday night at Texas Hall.

UTA dropped a hard-fought 71-69 decision to Samford Saturday to leave them 3-2 while UT Pan American enters the game 2-5 after a loss at USC-Upstate Saturday.

"We are going to have to come out swinging Monday," UTA head coach Scott Cross said. "Our backs are against the wall after losing Saturday and we will have to play well to come out on top."

The Mavericks fell behind by 22 points Saturday but staged a furious comeback to tie and eventually take the lead in the game. UTA had a chance at the buzzer to tie the game but Jordan Reves shot didn't fall.

Senior LaMarcus Reed has picked up his game with outputs of 21 and 17 points in the last two games and leads the team in scoring at 14.2 points per game. Bo Ingram is behind him at 12.2 points a contest.

As a team, the Mavericks are tied for 17th in the nation in rebounding as they average 42.0 boards per game.

UTPA features a one-two scoring punch of Brandon Provost at 15.3 points per game while Jared Maree averages 15.1 points a contest.

The game is the final one at home for the Mavs before they play six consecutive road games in December before returning home on Jan. 4 to start the conference season.

Tickets for Monday's game are available at the Texas Hall Box Office on Saturday or on
