UT Arlington-Texas Wesleyan game notes
Twenty-fourth-ranked UT Arlington continues their season-opening stretch of six of their first seven games at Texas Hall Thursday when they host Tarrant County rival Texas Wesleyan. Tipoff is at 7 p.m.
UT Arlington has won 10 straight games at Texas Hall dating back to Jan. 25, 2007... it is second longest home court winning streak since 1959. The school record is 12 straight at Texas Hall during the 2003-05 seasons... UTA has beaten four Division I non-conference opponents only once before, in 1980-81 when the Mavs went 20-8 UTA defeat TCU, Baylor, Centenary and SMU during the non-conference season... UTA has won 12 of their last 14 regular season games dating back to last season... Jermaine Griffin became the first Mav since Mack Callier to record three straight double figure rebounding games with a 10-rebound effort at Arkansas-Little Rock on Nov. 18... Callier had 10-or-more rebounds from Feb. 10, 2001 through Feb 17, 2001. The last Mav with four straight games was 1998 by Bill Washington... UTA is rated No. 128 in the Jeff Sagarin ratings for games through Nov. 26... UTA is ranked in a poll for the first time in program history. The Mavs are 24th in the www.collegeinsider.com Top 25 Mid-Major Poll for Nov. 26... UTA's top four guards - Rod Epps, Rog'er Guignard, Cardell Hunter and Brandon Long - are 25-of-28 at the foul line (89.2%)... UTA has shot better than 50 percent from the field in three of their first five games... The squad can set a school record for FG percentage in they can maintain their .554 percentage through five games...seven individuals (Griffin (72.7), Guignard (53.5), Moffitt (59.3), Posey (57.6), Vereen (60.7) and Parker (1.000) are all shooting better than 50 percent from the field. Griffin, Vereen and Moffitt are all ranked in the top 10 in field-goal shooting in the Southland Conference... Seven different Mavericks have scored in double figures this season... The Mavericks are sharing the ball this season. Their 17.2 assists per game would rank second all-time (17.4 apg in 1986-87).
UTA leads the series, 38-13. UTA has won the past 12 meetings by an averaged 12 points per game.

The Rams (3-2) return the court and 10 days off. Texas Wesleyan dropped their last game, a 79-65 loss at Oklahoma Wesleyan.
Dane Dmitrovic had 12 points and 12 rebounds. Freshman guard Ryan Barnes led the team with 13 points in 15 minutes off the bench and Aaron Scott added eight points and four assists.
