ARLINGTON, Texas – UT Arlington forward Kevin Hervey was named Sun Belt Conference Men's Student-Athlete of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday. Hervey also won Student-Athlete of the Week on Nov. 24.
Hervey led the Mavericks to a 2-1 week with a win on the road at UTEP, a blowout victory against rival North Texas and an overtime loss at Texas. The sophomore led UTA in scoring and rebounding in all three games, averaging 17.7 points and 12.3 rebounds.
Hervey tied his career high with 15 boards twice, doing it against Texas and North Texas. His double-doubles in the first two games ran his streak to five straight double-doubles.
