Haynes second in the nation in scoring

Arlington, Texas - UT Arlington senior guard Marquez Haynes is one of the leading scorers in college basketball this season.
Through the first seven games of the Mavericks season, Haynes has averaged 25.7 points per game which is second in the nation in the latest NCAA stats which were released Monday Dec. 14. He trails only Houston's Aubrey Coleman who is averaging 27.0 points per game.
Haynes has already scored 30 or more points three times this season and in another game he had 29. The school record for the most 30+ scoring games in a season is six held by Sam Norton in 1983-84.
The Mavericks, currently 4-3, next play at Baylor on Sunday, Dec. 20 at 2 p.m. The game can be seen on Fox Sports Southwest and can be heard on utamavs.com.
