ARLINGTON, Texas - There are plenty of things for the Mavericks to look forward in the coming weeks.

Christmas is in a couple of days. Finals have been over for over a week. A once in a lifetime game at Michigan State.

That's a full slate of distractions for what's before that. A game against the much smaller school Texas Wesleyan Tuesday night at 7 at Texas Hall.

"I think the guys know it's a great opportunity for them this time of year to get in the gym," coach Scott Cross. "I think we're way more capable of starting to fill it up from the outside."

Unfortunately it didn't show against Baylor on Sunday. The taller Bears lineup had their way with a Maverick's team that lost its leading rebounder, junior Tommy Moffitt, to a broken left foot.

Baylor out rebounded UT Arlington 54-38. It also beat them in second chance points 21-6. While Texas Wesleyan (8-3) doesn't feature the same size of Baylor, but close. The Rams feature three players taller than 6'8''.

Senior guard Marquez Haynes had a game to forget against Baylor. The nation's second leading scorer only scored 16 but turned the ball over eight times.

At least for the Mavericks the game will be at home. UTA (4-4) hasn't played a home game in almost a month. The last game was against UT Permian-Basin on November 24.
