Shot a 68-69=137 at the North Texas Amateur to tie for first... posted a final round 68 to finish tied for 29th at the Texas State Amateur (72-73-73-68=286)... also participated in the CPT-Austin, North and South Amateur, Southern Amateur Qualifier, Southwest Amateur, Texas State Open and U.S Amateur Qualifier... had a stroke average of 73.29 during the summer.
AS A JUNIOR (2005-06)
Appeared in seven events, with one coming as an individual during the season... fourth on the team with a 74.57 stroke average... finished a season-best tied for 25th (75-70-74=219) at the Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate... fired a 73-75-74=222 at the Border Olympics to help the Mavericks to a third-place finish.
Won Collegiate Players Tour event in San Antonio (70-71-72=213) and placed third in CPT-Colorado (71-72-75=218)... competed in Cotton States Amateur, U.S. Amateur qualifier, Southern Amateur and tied for 12th at the Texas State Amateur.
AS A SOPHOMORE (2004-05)
Recorded first top 10 finish of his career with an eighth place finish at the Henry Griffiths Invitational (72-75-70=217)... averaged 72.27 with three top-20 finishes in first three events of 2004 fall season... placed in a tie for 31st place at the NCAA West Regionals in Stanford, Calif., with a season-best 54-hole total of 216.
Tied for first at the Southern Amateur qualifier by shooting a 68...finished 48th at the 98th Southern Amateur Golf Championships after shooting 77-75-72-77=301... fired a 73-72-71=216 to finish sixth at the Collegiate Tour Championships... finished second at the CPT-Denver with a 74-68-71=213.
AS A FRESHMAN (2003-04)
Appeared in eight tournaments and owned a 74.95 stroke average... shot a 69-69-71=209 to finish tied for 10th at the Fall Beach Classic... his 54-hole 209 tied for the fourth lowest total in school history...tied for 13th at the Southland Conference Championships after shooting 76-73-72=221... was the team's top performer in two tournaments.
PRIOR TO UTA
First team all-state selection at Southlake Carroll High School... placed 10th at the 5A state tournament after shooting 74-73=147... named a Future Collegiate World Tour (FCWT) second team all-American... garnered first team all-area honors by the Dallas Morning News...tied Hunter Mahan for the low high school single round by shooting a 67 at Ennis Country Club... tied the two round total by shooting a 139 at the Southlake Spring Cup... won two tournaments as a senior...academically, graduated in the top-25 percent of his high school class...four-time selection to the academic all-district team... earned the National English Merit award... named to the American Academy of Distinguished Students... earned the SCHS "C" award, given to student-athletes who go above and beyond the call of duty to offer support and leadership to teammates.
