Carrigan joined the Mavericks program at the semester break in 2008, transfering from UNLV...turned in the single-most impressive performance by a Maverick during the 2007-08 season at the Diet Pepsi/Shocker Classic.
In his fourth tournament at UT Arlington, he competed as a medalist at the Wichita State University event and walked away with the individual championship by shooting a 67-68-71=226...At the Southland Conference Championships a week later, Carrigan finished in a tie for 14th. During his six tournament at UT Arlington during his junior season, Carrigan had four finishes in the Top 20 and two in the Top 10...his 74.47 stroke average was fourth-best on the Mavericks squad.
PRIOR TO UTA
Carrigan played high school golf in his native Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and is a 2004 graduate of Lambrick Park Secondary school. He attended Midland College in Midland, Texas, for two years. Carrigan helped Midland College capture the 2006 National Junior College Athletic Association national championship. Carrigan tied for third at the 2006 national tournament with a 16-under par 272 over the 72-hole event. He also recorded three individual titles that year.
PERSONAL
Born June 19, 1986...son of Laurel and Perry Carrigan...a market major at UT Arlington. A business/marketing major at UTA, Carrigan was a provincial high school champion in Canada. He is the son of Lauran Carrigan and James Carrigan Sr...His hobbies include playing hockey and watching hockey.
