Douthit looks to crack into top five this season. A veteran player who has played in 12 varsity tournaments during his career and ranks in the top career stroke average with a 75.55 heading into 2007-08.

AS A JUNIOR (2006-07)
Played one round of varsity golf, tying for 56th with a 76 at the rain-shortened Squire Creek Intercollegiate in the fall... played in four junior varsity events during the season.

Advanced to the second round of the Cotton States Invitational before losing to Weldon Martin of Baylor, 1-up... defeated fellow Maverick Kevin Varrichio in the first round, 7 & 5... tied for 32nd at the Texas State Amateur (72-69-69-77=288)... tallied a 73.29 stroke average... participated in the Southern Amateur Qualifier, Southwest Amateur, Texas State Open Qualifier and the U.S. Amateur Qualifier.

AS A SOPHOMORE (2005-06)
Appeared in 11 tournaments, which included one as an individual... finished the season with a 75.18 stroke average... placed in the top 10 in two events and the top 20 in three tournaments... fired an opening round 68 on his way to a tie for 25th at the Wolf Pack Invitational (68-77-72=217)... finished tied for 10th in back-to-back tournaments - the All-American Classic (72-71-73=217) and the Boder Olympics (71-71-75=217)... was a model of consistency at the Southland Conference Championship, posting a 74-73-73=220, to tie for 11th.

Fired round of 69 to qualify for the Texas State Amateur... competed at the U.S. Open qualifier, Cotton States Amateur, Southern Amateur qualifieir, U.S. Amateur qualfifier and score 84-83=167 at the CPT even tin Austin.

AS A SOPHOMORE (2004-05)

Shot a 74-70=144 at the Cotton States Amateur qualifier... was the co-champion of the consolation flight after winning four matches... shot a 77-84=161 at the U.S.Amateur qualifier.. shot a 76-73=149 at the Collegiate Players Tour event in Tyler.

AS A FRESHMAN (2003-04)
Owned a 76.58 stroke average in four tournament... apepared in two tournament in the fall and two in the spring... shot a personal best 72-69-73=214 to finish tied for 28th at the Fall beach Classic... fired a 76-75-77=228 to help his team to a fifth-place finish at the UCF/Rio Pinar Intercollegiate.

Two-time District 14-4A champion at Palestine High School... four-time first team all-district selection... collected 13 victories in high schools, six during his senior season... was Region I-4A champion and placed seventh at the UIL Class 4A State Tournament as a senior while leading the team to a runner-up finish.. named all-state in '02 after aveaging 72 per round... named the 2000-01 PHS Golfer of the Year... placed second at the EDS Byron Nelson Junior (71-72) and the AJGA Abilene Reporter-News Junior (70-66-70)... placed third at the 2002 Bubba Conlee Junior Memorial by shooting 13-under-par (66-69-68=203)... opening round of 66 set a tournament record... graduated with a 4.9 grade-point-average... top 10 in his class his sophomore and junior years... named a top 10 academic-athlete as a junior.

Born Oct. 23, 1984... Michael McCall Douthit is the son of Jan and Mike Douthit... uncle, Buster, was a member of the University of Houston golf team... business major.
