In addition to Aaron Guanlao, fellow freshman Jake Greenspoon was Honorable Mention.
The five-man is Cash Wilkerson, Jake Argento, Aaron Guanlao, Jake Greenspoon and Joss Gosling.
Aaron Guanlao led the UT Arlington contingent with his first ever top-10 showing.
UT Arlington is eighth after Monday's first two rounds at Wolfdancer Golf Club.
The 15-team Jim West Intercollegiate includes four squads ranked in the top 100.
Stuart Powell joined the UT Arlington golf program in 2005 as an assistant coach and became interim head coach in 2015.
Powell served 26 years in the United States Army with tours in Vietnam, Germany and various installations in the United States. He served as a professor of military science at UT Arlington where he retired from the military. During his time in the military, Powell achieved the rank of colonel.
He stayed active in golf as a competitor. He was club champion at the Fort Eustis Golf Club. Powell played on the Eagl mini tour for two seasons. He received his golf teaching certification and began teaching following the closure of the Eagl tour. He has been active as a professional golf instructor for nearly 20 years.
Powell and his wife, Marsha, have two daughters (Kara and Brittany) and a son, Brandon. Kara Puckett and her husband, Kevin, have two children and live in the Mesquite area. Brittney Powell has one son, and lives in Hollywood, Calif., pursuing an acting career. Brandon Powell is a chef in St. Louis.
