A quartet of UTA golfers will compete for the state title this week in Dallas
Stuart Deane qualified for his first major by finishing third at the PGA Professional National Championship.
Southland Conference Newcomer of the Year and a honorable mention all-conference selection...played in 11 tournaments and posted a stroke average of 74.81 in 32 rounds...best finish was a tie for third at the Diet Pepsi Shocker Classic in April...tied for ninth at the Jim West Intercollegiate for his only other top 10 finish...shot one-under 212 at the Battle at the Beach for his best scoring tournament of the season...finished in a tie for 15th at that tournament...finished in the top 21 in six of his 11 tournaments.
Prior to UTA
Spent two years at Lon Morris JC in Jacksonville, Texas...helped lead team to regional and state championships in 2008-09...medalist at 2009 regionals...2008 NJCAA first team All-American...finished 5th at the national tournament in 2008 where he shot a 66 in the final round...attended Pinetown Boys High School in Durban where he respresented his state at the under-23 and senior levels.
