MG: Mavs drop to 12th place at Querencia Cabo

LOS CABOS, Mexico – UT Arlington recorded a 307 team total and dropped to 12th place after Monday's second round of the Querencia Cabo Intercollegiate. The Mavericks were tied for fourth after the first round.
Brad Mason is tied for 23rd to lead the UTA contingent after carding a 5-over-par 76 on Monday at the par-71 Los Cabos Querencia. Mason was tied for ninth, along with Zach Galliford, after the first round.
"The guys did not have a good scoring day," UT Arlington coach Jay Rees said. "We need to get off to a better start tomorrow and eliminate the big numbers."
Houston leads the tournament by four strokes over Baylor, who posted the best team round of the day at three-under par. Alabama is third, while Kentucky sits in fourth and Vanderbilt is tied with SMU for fifth.
Houston's Roman Robledo leads all players at six-under par, while Baylor's Kyle Jones shot a 65 to climb up to second. Vanderbilt's Charlie Ewing is third, and Stewart Jolly of LSU and Robby Shelton of Alabama completed the top five.
The three-day event ends with a shotgun start Tuesday morning.
