SAN DIEGO, Calif.—The UT Arlington men’s golf team is in fifth place after the first day of the San Diego Intercollegiate.
"We played a great first round," UT Arlington coach Jay Rees said. "The winds picked up and Paul and Riley just could not get anything going in the afternoon round.
"Overall it was a positivate day and we are trying to have a great final round and move up."
The team is 11-over par and senior Cameron Hollek is leading the Mavericks tied for ninth after two rounds of play.
San Diego Stats leads all teams with a score of two-under par. All teams are back on the links Tuesday at 8 a.m. PT time.
