LAREDO, Texas - UT Arlington junior Zack Reeves (Arlington, Texas) fired a three-under-par 69 during the morning round as the Mavericks lead the Border Olympics with as even-under-par 281 after 18 holes at Laredo Country Club here Friday.
The 281 is a season-low score for the Mavs, ranked 113 according to golfweek.com, for events through March 13.
Four Mavs shot under-par scores on a clear day over the par-72, 7,241-yard course near the banks of the Rio Grande river.
Freshman Bryce Easton (Durban, South Africa) had a two-under 70 and freshmen Michael van de Venter (Centurion, South Africa) and Bobby Massa (Irving, Texas) each carded a one-under-par 71.
Senior Bryan Baker rounded out the scoring with a three-over-par 75.
