SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Jake Argento tied for 14th and UT Arlington jumped to 10th Tuesday in the final team standings of the Lone Star Invitational.
The Mavericks were 13th after Monday's two rounds at Briggs Ranch Golf Club. UTA shot a plus-17 891 (296-292-293) for the tournament.
"If we can putt the golf ball better, we can still win the Sun Belt championship," UT Arlington coach Jay Rees said.
Argento, tied for 16th place entering the final 18 holes, shot an even-par 72 to post a 1-under 215 for the three rounds. He played the last two rounds at 2 under.
The Mavericks are off until teeing it up in the Jim West Intercollegiate on April 7 in McKinney, Texas.
