Tucson, Ariz. - The UT Arlington golf team's 2011 season came to a close Saturday as they finished in 12th place at the NCAA Regionals in Tucson, Ariz.

The Mavericks finished the three round tournament with a team score of 295, which left them with an overall team score of 876.

Head coach Jay Rees' two seniors led the way for the Mavs on Saturday as Zack Fischer and Wes Worster each carded a one-over 72 to post the Mavs low score of the day.

Fischer finished the tournament at three-over par as he was able to register only one birdie on the day and also had two bogeys. He was the top UTA finisher in the tournament as he completed play in a tie for 34th.

Worster shot one-over 37 on the front side before carding an even par 35 on his final nine holes. He finished the tournament in a tie for 48th at six-over par.

Paul McConnell finished his tournament strong as he birdied three of the last five holes to finish with a three-over 74. The sophomore finished the tournament at six-over par, also in a tie for 48th.

Hunter Brown struggled Saturday as he shot a five-over 76. He went out in 40 but then had two birdies on his final nine holes to shoot one-over during that span. Brown finished the tournament at nine-over par and in a tie for 59th.

Carson Kallis finished his round with a five-over 76 and completed the tournament at 18-over par and in a tie for 71st.

San Diego State won the tournament with a team score of 833 while UC Davis' Matt Hansen was the individual medalist with a seven-under score of 204.
