SUGAR GROVE, Ill. - UT Arlington moved up two spots to seventh place after Saturday's second round of the Northern Intercollegiate at Rich Harvest Farms.
The Mavericks shot a plus-10 298, which was three shots better than Friday's opening round. After starting the day ninth out of 15 teams, UT Arlington is four shots out of sixth going into Sunday's final round.
Junior transfer Andrew Cornella had day's best round for UTA, carding a 1-over 73 to move into a tie for 24th in the individual standings. Sophomore Riley Fleming (76, T27), junior Cash Wilkerson (74, T30), junior Jake Argento (75, T45) and freshman Zach Galliford (77, T51)
Four of the five team players shot better rounds Saturday than Friday, and four moved up in the standings.
Playing as an individual, senior Brad Mason shot a 75 to drop from seventh into a tie for 13th. Mason is 1-over after two rounds.
