UTA GOLF FINISHES 11TH AT PACIFIC INVITATIONAL

ARLINGTON, Texas - ARLINGTON, Texas...The University of Texas at Arlington golf team competed in its first tournament of the Fall season and came away with an 11th place finish at the Pacific Invitational in Stockton, Calif. The Mavericks shot a final round 292, the fifth lowest round of the day, to pass San Jose State on the final day. Georgia Southern led throughout the tournament and survived a last round charge by Cal State Northridge to hang on for a four stroke lead. GSU's Aron Price followed up a second round 66 with a final round 67 to finish at 12-under and capture the individual championship by four strokes. Jordan Krantz led the Mavericks by finishing at three over par, after shooting a final round 76, to finish in a tie for 25th place. Bryan Baker had the best round of the day as he shot a two under par 70 to move up 18 spots in the individual standings to finish in a tie for 43rd place with teammate Landon Allen who fired a final round 72. The Maverick golfers will return to action on September 29-30 when they head to Louisville, Ken. for the Louisville Invitational.
