MAVERICKS RETURN TO ACTION AT BORDER OLYMPICS

ARLINGTON, Tex. - The UTA golf team returns to tournament action this Thursday and Friday (March 13 and 14) at the annual Border Olympics in Laredo, Texas.
The Mavericks come into the tournament after finishing second in each of their first two spring tournaments. UTA is currently ranked 47th in the nation in the latest Golfweek collegiate standings. Lamar is the only other Southland Conference team to appear in these rankings as they are 30th.
Junior Bobby Massa leads the Mavericks with a stroke average of 71.06. He is ranked 57th in the national among individuals by Golfweek.
The tournament will be held at the Laredo Country Club. The course will play to a par 72 and 7,125 yards.
Other schools in the tournament include Houston, Arkansas, Baylor, Houston Baptist, Lamar, Louisville, New Mexico State, New Orleans, North Texas, Notre Dame, Rice, Texas State, UALR, Vanderbilt and Washington State.
