LAREDO, Tex. - The UTA golf team is in fourth place after the first day of the annual Borders Olympics Tournament in Laredo, Texas.
The Mavericks were in first place after shooting a two-under par team score of 286 in the first round but then carded a team mark of 302 in the second round. Their two round score of 12-over par 588 is just nine shots behind first place Baylor.
Junior Bobby Massa is in second place as he shot 66 in the first round and 73 in the second round for a five-under score of 139.
The tournament concludes Saturday with a one 18-hole round at the Laredo Country Club.
