ARLINGTON, Texas – UT Arlington golf makes a trek to San Antonio for the Lone Star Invitational, hosted by UTSA. The 15-team event runs Monday and Tuesday at Briggs Ranch Golf Club.
The Mavericks five-man team consists of senior Brad Mason, junior Cash Wilkerson, junior Jake Argento, junior Joss Gosling and junior Marley Sweeney. Freshman Josh Radcliff is competing as an individual.
"This is our most experienced team," UT Arlington coach Jay Rees said. "I'm hoping it will produce the results we need. I'm optimistic this team can play good team golf."
Mason (74.25), Gosling (74.39) and Sweeney (74.89) own UTA's top three scoring averages this season. Those three plus Wilkerson and Argento have also shot the team's five lowest rounds.
The Mavericks finished 16th in their most recent event, the Border Olympics, earlier this month in Laredo.
The first two rounds of the Lone State Invitational will be played Monday. Briggs Ranch is a par-72 layout playing at 7,258 yards.
