Arlington, Texas. - This week's Jim West Intercollegiate represents the final opportunity for UT Arlington golfers to hone their skills before the most important tournament of the season.
The Mavericks will take this final tuneup at the Victoria Country Club in Victoria, Texas to keep improving before the Southland Conference Tournament in two weeks in Hammond, Louisiana.
That quintet finished second last week at the Shocker Classic in Wichita with Worster posting a season best T3 while Fischer was in fifth.
"This is our last chance to improve in competition before conference," Rees said. "We got better last week in Wichita and need to keep improving on those efforts this week."
All of the golfers will compete in Sunday's Pro-Am and former Major Leaguer Roger Clemens will play and talk to the players following the round.
Texas State is the host of the tournament with these schools rounding out the field - Cal State Fullerton, McNeese State, UT-Pan American, Centenary, Nicholls State, Sam Houston State and Rice.
