EULESS, Texas - The UT Arlington golf program hosted its 14th annual Chip-N-Classic Monday at Texas Stat Gold Course.

"This year was a success," UT Arlington coach Jay Rees said. "The weather was great. Overall, having more than 30 teams was a great turnout. People were in great spirits and I think they ha a lot of fun."

The tournament was set up as a five-man scramble mad up of 31 teams. The first-place team consisted of UTA's Chris Lovell, Bob Burch, Tim Lovell, Shad Muth and Chris Young.

Evan Dill of Enterprise Rental Car won $25,000 for a hole in one on No. 16.

"The day went well," Athletics Director Jim Baker said. "It's another event for our supporters to participate and support our golf program and the whole athletic department."

The Chip-N-Classic is sponsored by Texas Health Ben Hogan Sports Medicine, Flintco Constructive Solutions, Fieldturf, Sodexo, UT Arlington Student Affairs, LBL Architects and D&M Leasing. The Chip-N-Classic raises money for the men's golf program.
