Arlington, Texas - The UT Arlington golf team finished its final day of competition at the Squire Creek Invitational in Ruston, La, in 13th place out of 16 teams Tuesday afternoon.
The Mavs finished the tournament with a three-round team score of 879 (296-293-209).
After finishing the first day in 45th place, junior Bobby Massa tied for 24th place with a three-round tally of 218 (74-73-71) while Bryce Easton tied for 39th place with a 54-hole score of 221 (71-78-72).
Junior Michael Van deVenter tied for 47th place with a three-round tally of 222 (77-73-72) while Zach Fischer tied for 62nd place with a three-round score of 225 (74-72-79) and Kevin Varrichio recorded a 77th place showing with a 54-hole tally of 229 (79-75-75), respectively.
University of New Orleans captured the tournament title with a team score of 853, while LSU (853), University of Mississippi (856), University of Louisville (859), and Louisiana-Lafayette (862) rounded out the top-five.
The Mavericks will be back in action on Monday, Oct. 27 when they host the UTA/Waterchase Invitational at the Waterchase Golf Club in Forth Worth. The Mavs will be on a mission to capture their third straight title.
