The UT Arlington men's golf team will try to bounce back from a ninth-place finish at the Squire Creek Intercollegiate two weeks ago when they travel to Las Cruces, N.M., to compete in the Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate, beginning on Monday.
Host New Mexico State won last year's tournament with a 13-under-par 851 total. Nebraska's Brady Schnell fired rounds of 67-70-69=206 to win the tournament by two strokes over NMSU's Freddy Esparza.
UT Arlington will be playing in their seventh Herb Wimberly Tournament. The Mavs won the event in in 1998 with a 36-hole total of two under par 574.
