Golf tees it up of final time this fall
Nov. 1, 2009
Arlington, Texas - The UTA golf team plays tees it up for the final time this fall as they will take part in the Carter Plantation Intercollegiate in Springfield, La. on Monday and Tuesday. The tournament will also serve as the Southland Conference Preview as the course will be the site of the conference tournament in April. Head coach Jay Rees will send out the same team as he did in the last tournament as Zack Fischer, Bryce Easton, Bobby Massa, Donald Dowie and Wes Worster will be on the first tee Monday morning. Freshman Hunter Brown will play as an individual as well. "This will be a great opportunity for our team to see the course where the conference championship will be decided," Rees said. "All of our players know this is the last tournament of the fall and I think we will play well and continue on how we have been playing so far. Besides UTA and the other Southland Conference teams, other schools participating in the tournament include Rice, Louisiana-Lafayette, New Orleans, Arkansas State, Jacksonville State and Louisiana-Monroe. The teams will play 36 holes Monday followed by 18 on Tuesday.
