M&WT: Tennis completed another successful season

  • Named SLC Player of the Week on one occasion (Jan. 25)
  • Finished the year with a 10-10 overall record, earned nine of those wins playing at the No. 1 position
  • Recorded a 1-4 mark in Southland... recorded three singles victories over nationally-ranked teams
  • Picked up a 6-7, 6-4 and 6-3 win over No. 67 Arthur Surreaux of No. 57 New Mexico State
  • Recorded a 6-4, 6-1 win over Harry Fowler of No. 42 Rice
  • All the wins coming at the No. 1 singles position
  • Teamed up with both Yauheni Yakauleu and David Subirats to record a 5-15 overall doubles mark
  • Recorded a 2-2 mark in SLC play with Subirats playing at the No. 1 position.


  • Celedinas finished the season with 10-6 singles and 11-10 doubles record
  • Named SLC Player of the Week (Apr.13)
  • Capital One Bank/Southland Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll recipient
  • Helped the Mavericks to a SLC regular season title and the No. 1 seed in the SLC Tournament
  • Finished 3-1 in league play
  • Recorded a 9-6 mark at the No. 2 spot and a 1-0 record at the No. 1 position
  • Won five of his last 10 singles matches
  • Paired up with senior Dmitry Minkin at the No. 1 doubles spot where the duo registered a 11-10 record
  • The tandem went 5-5 in their last 10 matches
  • Won four straight singles matches prior to the SLC Tournament.


  • Only the third Maverick in men's tennis history to be named SLC Freshman of the Year, Celedinas led team with the most singles wins (12) and tied in doubles (12)
  • Named to the All-SLC singles second team
  • Earned SLC Player of the Week honors on one occasion
  • Started off at the No. 3 position and later bumped down to the No. 1 spot where he recorded an 8-7 mark
  • Went 4-3 in conference action
  • Recorded a three-set win against No. 75 University of New Orleans
  • Paired with Dmitry Minkin, the duo won their first six matches and finished the season with a 12-9 record
  • The tandem posted victories over nationally-ranked University of New Orleans and Baylor.

  • Ranked one of the top-20 players in the 14 & Under division
  • Ranked one of the top-60 players in the 16 & Under division
  • Was the Lithuania champion
  • In 2002 was ranked one of the top-4 players in Lithuania
  • Won Baltic State 14 & Under Championship
  • In 2004 was Europe's Champion in the 14 & Under Division
  • Was the Baltic States Champion and the European Champion
  • Was the summer's and winter's Lithuania champion.
