ARLINGTON, Texas – UT Arlington men's tennis defeated Cameron University 6-1 Saturday afternoon at UTA Tennis Center.
"Great job by the guys getting the doubles points quick," UT Arlington coach Diego Benitez said. "It really helped keep the momentum going. We played solid throughout the lineup."
The Mavericks jumped out to any early lead after No. 1 and No. 3 doubles won their matches, both at 6-4. Javier Perez and Carlos Arbiza were winning at the No. 2 position, but did not need to finish because the Mavericks had already won the doubles point.
Sophomore Sebastian Erimicioiu continued his winning streak, defeating his Cameron opponent 6-0, 6-1 at the No. 4 singles position.
The Mavericks are back on the court Sunday at 10 a.m. as the host Sun Belt Conference opponent UL Lafayette for their first league match of the season.
