ARLINGTON, Texas - The UT Arlington men's tennis team overcame defeat at the No. 1 position to down Midwestern State 6-1 on Wednesday at the UTA Tennis Center.
"It was a tough match, they came out swinging," UT Arlington coach Diego Benitez said. "They are a solid team so I am very happy with the way that we handled the situation. We have had some good practices and that is helping us in close matches."
The lone defeat for the Mavericks came in singles as Marek Pesicka fell 6-5, 6-3.
The Mavericks continue play on Sunday at 10 a.m. against metroplex rival TCU at the UTA Tennis Center.
